A DIFFERENT PLACE TO WORK
Mycelia Therapy Collective is a growing nonprofit organization founded on the belief that client and therapist wellbeing are interconnected. We offer a sustainable way for therapists to serve clients who can’t afford cash or out-of-network therapy rates.
Mycelia blends the autonomy and flexibility of private practice with the accessibility of community-based settings. Through Mycelia, therapists can work with a broad range of clients, collaborate with values-aligned colleagues, and have the freedom and support to work in a way that promotes their own wellbeing. Our hope is that you will find your work with us enriching, and that will allow you to care for yourself and your clients in a sustainable way over the course of your career.
Mycelia prioritizes building and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workplace. We recruit and support providers holding marginalized identities and use an organizational structure that elevates the voices of staff whose voices are often lost in traditionally structured, hierarchical institutions.

About Mycelia Therapy Collective
Mycelia Therapy Collective is a new nonprofit group practice committed to increasing access to high-quality psychotherapy while supporting the wellbeing of providers. We believe that sustainable, equitable mental health care requires supporting both clients and clinicians. To that end, we've built our work around three commitments:
-
Increase accessibility to psychotherapy - We contract with a wide range of insurance networks—including Washington State Medicaid (Apple Health)—to reduce financial barriers for low- and middle-income Washington state residents.
-
Support our clinicians - Our collaborative, trauma-informed team values an affirming, mutually supportive environment. An important aspect of this goal is to offer group health insurance to as many therapists as is possible.
-
Shared governance - Mycelia utilizes a collective leadership approach that emphasizes transparency, responsiveness, and flexibility. As we continue to grow, we are eager to provide opportunities for involvement in organizational decision-making.
Role overview
Part-time therapists provide individual psychotherapy to a diverse client base. Clinicians have autonomy in shaping their schedules and clinical approaches while benefiting from a supportive, mission-driven environment. Clinicians can elect to participate in non-clinical activities that support the organization.
Therapists have the option of transferring existing clients to Mycelia if those clients meet our income eligibility criteria (generally, household income at or below 115% of the Area Median Income, or enrollment in Apple Health). This can be a meaningful way to increase affordability for clients who are currently paying out of pocket.
